From naming to renaming, the cohabitation between two naming systems (Kabylia)
De la nomination à la renomination, la cohabitation de deux systèmes de nomination (Kabylie)
Résumé
In this research we set out to analyse the practices and strategies put into place by the Kabyle population to succeed in maintaining the Kabyle naming system despite the civil status created by France in 1882. To answer our questions, we used semi-structured interviews conducted in the Kabyle language. These were translated into French for the purpose of analysis. The first results show that the subjects implemented identity strategies to adapt and live with the two names.
